Licenses (Permits)

The Fisheries Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania issues permits for commercial fishing in marine waters and permits for Special fishing in marine waters.

Permits issued for commercial fishing in maritime waters¹:

• A permit  for  commercial fishing in the Baltic Sea (offshore fishing)

• A permit for commercial fishing along the Baltic Sea coast

• A permit for commercial fishing in the high seas

• A special authorization for the reloading and transportation of fishery products in the area, regulated by the North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission.

¹ The procedure for issuance of permits, registering, cancellation, suspending and renewing, revising (supplementing), issuance of a duplicate and the rights as well as obligations of the users of fish stocks, practgicing commercial fishing in marine waters, are defined by the Regulations for commercial fisheries in marine waters approved by Order No. 3D-94 of 12 February 2009 of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania.

Permit issued for special fishing in maritime waters²:

• A permit for special fishing in marine waters

² The procedure and conditions for special fishing, the procedure for the issuance of permits for special fishing in marine waters, the submission of applications and reports as well as the procedure of utilization of catches shall be established by the Rules for special fishing in marine waters, approved by Order No. 3D-630 of 24 November 2008 of Minister of agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania.

A state fee of the amount set by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania shall be paid for the issuance of fishing permits, revision (supplementation) or issuance of a duplicate:

The state fee is paid into a collective account of the town (district) division of the county tax office. The payment code is 5760.
