Licences (Permits)

The Fisheries Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania issues commercial fishing permits in marine waters and special fishing permits in marine waters.

The following commercial fishing permits in marine waters are issued:

• Permit for commercial fishing in the Baltic Sea, excluding the right to fish in coastal waters;
• Permit for commercial fishing in the Baltic Sea coastal waters;
• Permit for commercial fishing in other marine waters;
• Special permit for the transhipment and transport of fisheries products in the area regulated by the North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission.

The procedure for issuing, registering, cancelling, suspending and renewing the validity of, revising / supplementing and issuing duplicates of commercial fishing permits in marine waters, as well as the rights and obligations of users of fish resources engaged in commercial fishing in marine waters, is established by the Rules on Commercial Fishing in Marine Waters, approved by Order No. 3D-94 of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania of 12 February 2009.

The following special fishing permit in marine waters is issued:

• Special fishing permit in marine waters.

The procedure and conditions for special fishing, the procedure for issuing special fishing permits in marine waters, submitting applications and reports, and using caught fish are established by the Rules on Special Fishing in Marine Waters, approved by Order No. 3D-630 of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania of 24 November 2008.

A state fee established by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania is charged for the issuance, revision / supplementation or issuance of a duplicate of fishing permits:
